Parlour FC and Bronx Ale faced of starting short sided, but Bronx Ale ended up with a full team against PFC’s ten. Both teams played well, defenses were organized and Bronx Ale demonstrated a bit of good passing throughout. Cori Witkiewicz came close to scoring minutes into the game but her shot was blocked by the post and PFC was able to clear the ball out of the box. Bronx Ale continued to press but couldn’t convert their chances. PFC was able to get on the board near the end of the first half when Marjorie Gateau delivered the ball from the defensive third to the midfield to Jane Kenney who made a beautiful cross that Liz Eles struck into the goal.
The second half saw Bronx Ale House turn up the pressure and after multiple near misses, Witkiewicz was finally rewarded a goal early in the second half. PFC’s goalie Susan Kistler continued to make some great saves to keep the game level. Bronx Ale then took the lead when Stephanie Nava scored off a scramble in the box to up the score 2-1. PFC had a few chances for an equalizer but and Bronx Ale’s Jeannie Heinsohn was able to make some saves to hold onto the lead, including a point blank shot from PFC’s striker Pearl Odu ending with a 2-1 victory for Bronx Ale.
